I
would like to continue Psalms 33 from the last article. If you
have not already read "A Deeper Look at the Psalms - Psalm Chapter
1", I would suggest you do that first, because in it I explain
what technique I use in studying Psalms. It will make this article
a little more easy to understand. Having said that, here's Psalm
33:12-22.
Psalm 33:12-22 (King James Version)
12)
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom He
hath chosen for His own inheritance.
13)
The Lord looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men.
14)
From the place of His habitation He looketh upon all the inhabitants
of the earth.
15)
He fashoineth their hearts alike; He considereth all their works.
16)
There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man
is not delivered by much strength.
17)
An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver
any by his great strength.
18)
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon them that
hope in His mercy;
19)
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20)
Our soul waiteth for the Lord: He is our help and our shield.
21)
For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy
name.
22)
Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in Thee.
Psalm
33:12-22 (Heath's Version)
12)
How happy and blessed are the nations and peoples whose Supreme God
and magistrate, the One Whom they consider to be Creator and Judge is
the Self-existent, eternal God and Lord Who is our Redeemer, the most
intense and passionate God. The tribes and nations of those people have
been choicly selected as excellent and appropriate to join in the distribution
of their portion of His estate and possessions…their inheritance.
13)
The Self-existent, eternal God and Lord Who is our Redeemer, the most
intense and passionate God looks down and scans intently as He regards
with favor and pleasure from the sky and outer space and joyfully considers,
ponders, and perceives what He sees.
14)
From the dwelling place that He is joined or married to, His permanent
habitation, He peeps at those who dwell in or are joined or married
to this earth, glancing sharply at them.
15)
He fashions as a man squeezing or molding like a potter and gives purpose
to the hearts, minds, intellects, wills, and understandings of men.
He separates mentally and distinguishes to Himself, pondering and dealing
wisely with Himself regarding the operations and accomplishments of
man and all the things man does.
16)
No king or member of reigning royalty is free, safe, or able to be rescued
or achieve victory by a plenteous abundance or great multitude of an
army of valiant and worthy men of strength. A valiant warrior or champion
does not escape and is not snatched away from danger simply by force,
vigor, strength, or wealth.
17)
A horse is a false or deceptive thing likened unto a sham in that it
cannot achieve deliverance, victory, or rescue and can’t help any one
slip out of another’s grasp like a smooth bar of soap even though it
has a plenteous abundance or multitude of strength likened to that of
an army of valiant and worthy men of strength.
18)
Behold and take a look-see at this…the eye of the Self-existent, eternal
God and Lord Who is our Redeemer, the most intense and passionate God
is on those that are fearfully reverent of Him, those that patiently
wait and hope, tarrying for His kindness, piety, favor and mercy;
19)
Waiting for Him to snatch away and allow their soul, their vitality,
and their ability to breathe to escape from pestilence, ruin, and death.
And to revive, restore, nourish, or cause them to live during hunger,
suffering, and famine.
20)
Our soul and vitality adheres to and tarries long for the Self-existent,
eternal God and Lord Who is our Redeemer, the most intense and passionate
God. He surrounds, protects, aids, and helps us and is our defense and
shield much like the hard, shielding skin of a crocodile.
21)
Our heart, mind, intellect, will, and wisdom will be bright, joyful,
merry, and gleesome because we are boldly confident and secure as we
trust as a sure thing His sacred and most consecrated and holy position
of authority, honor, and character which is what He is renowned for,
what He made His mark by…those things that constitute His name.
22)
Let your kindness, piety, favor, and mercy be, Oh Self-existent, eternal
God and Lord Who is our Redeemer, the most intense and passionate God
as we patiently wait and hope in You.
